A LEGAL case of defamation being brought by the former general manager of Glenwood Gardens against a Glen Innes shopkeeper will continue in the Supreme Court in Sydney today.
In the Common Law division of the Supreme Court, Colin Francis has taken civil action against Stephen (Badja) Sparks regarding a leaflet which was distributed in Glen Innes in early December last year.
The leaflet made claims about the employment history of Mr Francis at Glenwood Gardens and during his time as general manager of St George Council in Queensland and as general manager of the former Glen Innes Municipal Council.
The Examiner understands that Mr Francis is being represented in the claim by Barrie Goldsmith of Goldsmiths Lawyers in Sydney, and that Mr Sparks is representing himself.
The matter is set down for the hearing of arguments before Justice William Nicholas in Court 10C, Queens Square this morning.
