A Glen Innes teenager was flown to John Hunter Hospital in the early hours of yesterday morning following a car accident on Sunday.
The single vehicle accident occurred on the corner of the Glen Legh Road and Stonehenge Road at midnight on Sunday.
Glen Innes Paramedics transported a 19-year-old male suffering head and shoulder injuries and a 16-year-old female sustaining abdominal injuries to the Glen Innes and District Hospital. The female patient was flown to John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle in a fixed wing aircraft at 2am yesterday morning for further medical attention.
At the time of going to press John Hunter Hospital was unable to confirm the condition of the girl.
Glen Innes Police confirmed reports that the female had been thrown from the vehicle but were unable to say how far.
The Police denied speculation that the female was driving at the time of the accident. A spokesperson said investigations into the accident were continuing.
