Man charged after drug tip off

09 Feb, 2010 08:06 AM
A 54 YEAR OLD Glen Innes man will appear in court next month after being charged for drug possession, following a tip-off from the public.

After receiving information from the public, police executed a search warrant at a residence in Glen Innes on Wednesday February 3. As a result of the search, police seized what they claim was $16,500 worth of cannabis plants. The male occupant of the house was arrested at the scene and subsequently charged with cultivating a prohibited plant, and three offences of possessing prohibited drugs. He was released on bail and will appear at Glen Innes Local Court in March.

Police are urging members of the community with information regarding drug related activity to contact Glen Innes Police on 6732 9799 or Crimestoppers on 1800 33 000. Information may be given anonymously and will be investigated.
