The Cystic Fibrosis Great Escape Car Rally 2011 will stop in Emmaville next Tuesday night and locals are being urged to support the cause.
The rally is now in its 10th year and raises much needed funds for those who have been diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis.
Cystic Fibrosis is a common recessive genetic disease which affects the entire body, causing progressive disability and often early death.
Emmaville is the first stop on the program for the rally.
It leaves Tamworth on Tuesday morning before pulling into Emmaville about 3.30pm. They will then spend the night in Emmaville, with a function at the Tattersalls Hotel.
At the function there will be a number of items auctioned off to raise money for the rally including some rugby league memorabilia.
There will also be a barbecue, with all proceeds going to the rally.
Auctioneers from Colin Say and Co will run the auction, while Gold Coast man Steve Cummins will provide entertainment on the night.
Glen Innes Severn mayor Steve Toms will also be on hand to welcome the 160 people participating in this year’s rally.
After leaving Emmaville, the rally is scheduled to make stops in The Gums, Emerald, Bowen River, Charters Towers, Oak Park, Forsayth, Undara and finally Port Douglas where the rally will finish on Thursday, September 22.
