Mccarthy's notch up century

At the Glen Innes Junior Cricket last Saturday the Under 12’s sides McCarthy’s played the Services Club at Wilson Park South. McCarthy’s batted first and were all out in the final over with the score at 106.

Brock Simpkins was the stand out batsmen (52 runs). He was well supported by Tyler Johnson (16 not out). The wickets were shared among the bowlers for Services Club.

Services then went in to chase the runs but despite good efforts by Jacob Howard (19 not out) and Lachi Thomas (14), fell short of the target finishing on 5 wickets for 78 runs after their allotted 20 overs.

James Cameron was the most successful of the McCarthy bowlers taking 3 wickets for 5 runs after 3 overs. McCarthy’s won this match by 28 runs.

The second Under 12’s match was played between Video Ezy and NRMA at Wilson Park North. NRMA batted first but were all out for 42 runs in the 13th over. Braydon Gallagher batted well to make his 14 runs and both Michael Balchin and Perry Stapleton contributed each making nine runs. Jayden Every had the outstanding figures of 4 wickets for 4 runs for Video Ezy.

Video Ezy then went in to chase down the runs and had passed the required total in the 12th over however continued to bat on until the score was 5 for 75 runs in the 18th over. Jayden Every had an excellent all round day following up his bowling efforts with 20 runs off the bat. He was supported by Sam Fisher who remained not out on 12 runs and Thomas Mitchell who made 10 runs. Best of the bowlers for NRMA was Blake Cameron (2 wickets for 5 runs). Video Ezy won this match.

In the Under 16’s match Nick Hamel’s team won the toss and chose to bat. A steady fall of wickets saw the team all out with 69 runs after 17 overs. Corey Hope top scored with 18 runs and was well supported by Jack Symons who made 11 runs. Best of the bowlers for Jayden Ehsman’s team was James Cooper with 3 wickets for 1 run. Ehsman’s team went in to chase down the runs. Blake steel came out swinging at everything and made a quick fire 59 runs. He was well supported by Scott Hodder (27 not out) and Cody Hogan (10 not out). They had passed the required total in the 11th over when the score was 4 wickets for 72 runs however batted on to the 18th over taking the score to 7 wickets for 132 runs. Best of the bowlers for Nick Hamel’s team was Nick Whan (2 wickets for 14 runs) and Nick Hamel (2 wickets for 15 runs). Jayden Ehsman’s team won this match.
