Aqua aerobics returned to the Glen Innes Swim Centre yesterday morning with an enthusiastic group of 14.
The program kicked off for another year under the instructions of Brett Leech and will now run six days a week.
It has continued to grow each season and Mr Leech said there are many benefits to the hour long sessions.
“Aqua aerobics helps to improve a person’s cardiovascular fitness, muscular strength, endurance and flexibility,” he said.
“It is also a means of relaxation moving through the water and helps cool the exercising body.”
Classes run from 10am on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday while a more rigorous work out in the deep end of the pool is available every Thursday evening at 6pm.
Individuals of all ages and swimming abilities are welcome to join in the aqua aerobics. Classes cost $9 each or $7 with ticket entry and full season payments are available.
