Glen Innes 8’s were defeated by a very skilled Armidale side 48 to 8 on Saturday in Armidale.
Try scorers were Ewan Winter and Shannon Williamson. Both players along with Mark Law made strong attacking runs and defended well throughout the game. Jesse O’Brien and Jason McAlister were outstanding in defence, while Mitchell Varcoe and Dylan Easterbrook continue to improve with each game.
Coaches points were awarded to Ewan Winter, Shannon Williamson, and Mark Law.
The under 10s beat Armidale 28 to 16.
It was a great win for the boys in cold and wet conditions,everyone tackled well and contributed to the final score.Try scorers were Matty Jillet (2), Alex Fisher, Zac Willis and Locky Oaks. Best players were Locky Oaks, Brad Townsend and Jonathon Martin. Coaches pick went to James Cameron who had a great game captaining the side.
Under 12’s had a good win this week in wet trying conditions of 30 points to nil. The forwards played extremely well with a stand out game from Ben Schiffman and Jake Campbell playing his best game for the season.
There was a great combination in the backs with Callum Hayden performing well, Bryce Johnston playing some great football and Mitchell Willis and Jayden Eshman scoring two tries each. Referees points went to Jayden Eshman, Brayden Gallagher and Sam Fischer.
The under 14’s had a big win against Armidale on Saturday.
The Magpies went into th break leading 16 -0 after some solid football in the first half.
The second half showed an even stronger performance as the boy’s threw the ball all around the park and scored some great team tries resulting in a final score of 36-0. A great defensive effort was shown as the boy’s kept Armidale scoreless. Points went to Jamie Hogan, Max Crossley and Matthew Shore.
The 16s really hit their straps on the weekend with a 14 to 4 win over the Armidale Rams.
The score was four all for most of the match until Hayden Johnston broke the dead lock to make the score 10 to 4 and Bryce Anderson had a great run of a set scrum move to seal the win on the day the opening try was scored by some great running and flashy play from Jay Smith Webster .
The game was great to watch with some huge defence from the Glen men and they came out in the second half with only winning in their minds . Curtis Pringle had a huge game from hooker and Brady Willis really is showing us some of his skills now playing at lock .
The back rowers of J Williamson and A Grosse had a huge defensive game and were backed up well from the bench J Speedy, Brendon Jillett and Mitchell Munro. A big mention to Harley Wright and Craig Browne who both had huge games in the backs.
The players points for the day went to C Browne, Harley Wright and Jay Smith Webster. The Bob Sloman award went to Brady Willis .
