Duffell suffers first defeat

Sue Rees’ team dealt Jason Duffell’s team their first defeat in the Saturday afternoon tennis teams competition.

Rees’ team were able to win with the comfortable score line of eight sets to four.

The remaining match up between Mavis Haselwood and Neil Dunbar’s teams could not have been closer as they finished dead even. The two teams finished at six sets all with total games won 53all.

Saturday marked the end of the first of three rounds in the competition. Sue Rees and Jason Duffell’s teams currently share the lead having both won three of their four matches.

The competition continues this Saturday from 1.30pm with Neil Dunbar, Robert Miller, Lorace Hull, Ken Southgate, Belinda Grob and Natalie Whan having the bye.
