The Far Northern Tennis Championships were held in Glen Innes over the weekend and with close to 100 entries over for grades club officials say the weekend of tennis was very successful.
Brendon Moore of Lismore took out the A grade mens singles title and the A grade mens doubles with his brother Nathan.
Moore who is ranked 54th in Australia and 134th in the world had too much class for his competitors.
Alicia Smith from Tamworth prevailed in the A-grade ladies singles.
Tennis Club president Peter Haselwood described the number of entries received as a good response.
“In spite of the showery conditions it was quite a successful tournament, we had a number of entries from the coast as well a number of entries from Armidale and Inverell,” he said.
“It was once again a good competition, thankyou to all our sponsors.”
