Two special awards were presented: 'Most Humorous Speeches' throughout the year was awarded to Ken Brien, and the 'Golden Gavel Award' was presented to our outgoing president Cheryl Rudd. Mrs Rudd’s efforts and enthusiasm have inspired the entire group.
The new executive is comprised of Cathy McBride (president), Cheryl Rudd (vice president, education), Sandy FitzGerald (vice president, membership), Renate Blumkaitis (vice president, public relations), Sheridan Lawson (secretary), Leanne Lockwood (treasurer) and Ken Brien (sergeant at arms).
Club members dined in magnificent style at the tavern.
“The food and service was out of this world,” Ms Blumkaitis said.
“The support of our fellow members empowers us 'to have a go' as we move forward into the new year looking for new challenges and learning opportunities.”
Glen Innes Toastmasters club meets on the first and third Thursday night of each month at the Community Centre opposite the Town Hall in Grey Street. The new start time is 6pm.
“Come one, come all. You are very welcome,” Ms Blumkaitis said.
