Following their success in school, zone and North West selection early in 2013, the speedy pair travelled to Sydney to contest State level completion at Homebush Stadium in September.
Topping the field of high performance athletes from across New South Wales, Tom and Mikielee have selected four individual events to contest on the world’s stage, both turning their sights toward the 100m, 200, and 400m sprint and long jump events.
Developing out of a long-standing international sporting cooperation the competition draws the very best school athletes from New South Wales and Victoria to compete on the international stage.
Juggling their commitments, Tom and Mikielee have added their international exposure to a horde of local sporting engagements and said they are looking forward to testing their skills on the global stage.
Sending thanks to local sponsors, including Sportspower Highland Cycling for providing gear, both Tom and Mikielee will depart on their 19 day tour later this year, spending the lead up in hard training at King George Oval, honing their skills for the tough competition ahead.
