With marching and pipe bands from across the New England region and beyond travelling to attend, the parade was marked by steadfast dancers, players and Celtic and Norse reenactment groups marching the length of Grey Street prior to a combined pipe performance at the front of the Glen Innes Town Hall.
While the crowds flocked to Grey Street, young local performer Kathryn Luxford was joined by Queensland Under 12s champion busking performer Laura Veasley, with renditions of popular country and pop artists.
While the Australian Standing Stones may have moved to a wet weather schedule, Chairperson of the Australian Celtic Festival Raelene Watson said most events and attractions will continue to run, with the exception of the strongman competition, with many acts and events now moving to the Sapphire Stage marquee at the southern end of the stone circle.
