Defeating Lea Kempton, Pru Newby and Janice Egan in a countback on Wednesday, Wilson claimed the 18 hole stroke event and seventh monthly medal with a score she dubbed “pretty ordinary” (nett 78), before going on to claim the sixth monthly medal in a second stroke event on Sunday, July 27.
Egan was in hot pursuit throughout the two events closing in on third place on Wednesday and inching towards the winning spot on Sunday, with a sound nett score of 73, followed in the rundown by Joan Hutton with a nett 74 and Shirley Bruce with a nett 76.
The front nine holes went to Margaret Miller (37) on Wednesday, while the putting went to Pru Newby with 32, while Egan bolstered her score securing the putting on Sunday, with 31 putts.
After claiming the front nine holes on Wednesday, Miller (35) returned to the winner’s list to claim the back nine on Sunday.
The draw went to Shirley Bruce, while the raffle went to Nancy Kiehne.
Owing to a necessary delay on the Irish 4BBB event scheduled to tee off tomorrow, July 30, the ladies will instead be contesting an 18 holes stableford for Jan Hope’s trophy, with a second stableford for a club trophy scheduled for Sunday, August 1.
The Irish 4BBB will be rescheduled for Wednesday, August 13.
