The toddlers pool at Emmaville will similarly be put onto a separate filtration system to allow its reopening.
Glen Innes Severn Council’s director of infrastructure services Vanessa Menzie is hopeful that the work will be completed in time for the start of the swim season in October, but it will depend on the availability of contractors to complete the work in time.
The plan is to extend the Glen Innes toddler pool and change its shape. Although it will still be a shallow pool, the depth will vary in some places and the pool will include water features to enhance the children’s play. Mrs Menzie said council is in the process of calling for quotations and design concepts, and is looking forward to seeing the creative ideas that contractors can offer.
As the Glen Innes pool is scheduled for significant renewal and upgrade works this financial year, councillors endorsed both the immediate work and the ongoing investigation of options for the proposed redevelopment.
