In a 10-minute comprehensive process, the trained team are offering a general health assessment that could identify a number of lifestyle choices that could lower the risk of diabetes and stroke.
Taking blood pressure readings and a brief assessment of each individual, Ms Orgill said the team can identify risk levels of developing high blood pressure diseases and make recommendations and referrals if required.
Dubbing the consultation an excellent opportunity for those putting off a trip to the GP, Ms Orgill said the free process is non-invasive and backed by the National Stroke Foundation’s “Know Your Numbers” campaign, encouraging Australians to be mindful of their health and to make considered lifestyle choices to ensure quality of life.
Gearing up to run from 10am to 5pm tomorrow, Ms Orgill is calling on locals to drop into Timbs in their lunch break for their individual consultation.
Focusing her studies on community health promotion, Ms Orgill said she was interested in regional and rural health industries and chose Glen Innes as a source of practical on-the-job experience, close to home.
