Johnson, Reid and Lisle shot perfect scores to set a high standard for local and visiting shooters, but challenging conditions saw perfect scores turn increasingly rare in the following 25 target single barrel and 25 target continental double barrel events.
The final 15 pair double rise championships saw top performing visiting and local shooters working hard for high scores, with John Reid again coming out on top, with an event winning score of 26/30.
Reid went on to claim the Overall High Gun, shooting 99/105, and while the Glen Innes and District Services Club $100 Clean Sweep remained safe for another month, the regular local shooter from Guyra has cemented himself as a formidable threat on the range.
Father and son team Peter and Ross Kamphorst also came out to contest the events, with Club President Ralph Larkings and his dedicated team of workers coordinating another successful day of shooting.
The club’s next shoot will be held on Saturday, September 6, commencing from 1pm, with practice open from 12noon.
With a 25 target double barrel continental, 30 target continental med championships, 25 target point score and 25 target single barrel scheduled, club members are reminded that a meeting will be held following the shoot to coordinate the annual Spring Fling to be held in November.
