Congratulations to Andrew Byrne, Tony Snow and all the girls involved. You have worked hard all year and thoroughly deserved the win.
Commiserations go out to the under 12s and the under 14s who didn’t win their matches, however should hold their heads up high for making it through to the grand final. They too have worked hard all year to gain that position. Well done boys. Better luck next year.
League tag
In a hard-fought win Glen Innes league tag girls beat Uralla 16-12. Tries were scored by Sarah Byrne (2), Eb Gallagher (1) and Anika Farrugia (1). Best on the field were Eb Gallagher, Sarah Byrne, Kira Willis, Cass Mossman, Anika Farrugia and Emilie Hodge.
It was a well-deserved premiership, girls. Thanks for a great year.
Under 12s
The under 12s grand final in Bingara against Moree was a great match of two equal teams.
The Glen boys played good, hard, fast grand final quality football. The onlookers cheered on the teams from run-on to fulltime.
Every player gave their best. Glen scored 3 tries, by Luke Kiehne, Ali Crossley and Nic Cave. They were our only scores. Moree also played hard and fast, with the final score being Moree 30 to Glen’s 12, but the score was no reflection on how even the teams were.
It was a fantastic game. We’re very proud, boys, and looking forward to the end-of-season presentation.
