A dozen employees and staff of Glen Industries met up with the group on their first schedule fuel and morning tea stop in Emmaville, with Ann Fairbanks and the Emmaville community providing its infamous country hospitality.
For the few weeks leading in Glen Industries ran a fundraising raffle in support of the ride, selling raffle tickets in Glen Innes. All funds raised were donated to Down Syndrome NSW and presented to the riders last Thursday.
Glen Industries presented the riders with a $200 cheque on behalf of Bill Munro of Timbs Pharmacy, and a cheque for $1005 from Glen Industries fundraising efforts. A hundred dollars was donated to the Emmaville Court House in support of its restoration efforts, and this in turn was donated to Down Syndrome NSW and presented to the riders on behalf of the Emmaville community. Ride coordinator Mick O’Brien announced that these donations meant Team Inverell had raised in excess of $10,000 for Down Syndrome NSW.
