“We would like to extend a very heartfelt and warm thankyou to all the people who helped put this event together and make it so special,” Mrs Sharman said.

Her emotion was clear as she recounted the excitement and feelings that filled the Crystal Room at the Glen Innes Services Club where the event was held.

“It all came together and made our day superb and we would like to extend our thanks to all the staff at the Services Club and the Crystal Room for their attention to detail,” Mrs Sharman said.

Vintage cars carried some of the older guests to the venue, their beaming faces giving more than a hint of just how special they felt arriving in such style. 

“People travelled from near and far, and the ages ranged from 21 years of age up to 96,” she said.

“It will long live in our memory.”
