Services bowled first and had Tatts all out for just 79 runs with the Services attack led by a devastating spell from Matthew Miller as well as Dave Every who also took a pair of wickets. Miller’s form was so good on the day he earned himself a new nickname from his teammates according to services skipper Nick Lehman.
“He took four wickets for 25 from just six overs so we nicknamed him ‘the destroyer’,” he said.
Services quickly reached the Tatts target with their batting led by a brilliant half century from opener Jake Every who finished with 55. Every was ably supported by low scores from a number of other players, most notably Ben Lonergan who smashed 14 runs from just three balls.
Unfortunately in the other game, New England Colts were forced to forfeit to Tavern due to a wedding attended by numerous Colts players.
