Seven-year-old Tamworth Gelding Sambora sprinted to victory in the 2015 Deepwater Cup. After poor form in his last two starts Sambora impressed surprised many at the track, jockey Melissa Brown riding the Karen Fox trained horse to an upset win. In second place was the Lea Selby trained Rhodonite with Vad Bolozhinskyi aboard followed by Threebigrivers ridden by Sophie Young and trained by David Campbell, Kypsneil trained by Greg Kilner came in fourth. Former Glen Innes trainer Paddy Cunningham and jockey Jodi Worley who combined to win last weekends Glen Innes Cup with Miss Caitlyn scored themselves a third place in the days opening race with Natural Warrior finishing behind Raheebs Kingdom in second and Angelic Star in first. Tonto Ridge finished fourth.

Race two was won by Beauzel, with Cabriole second and Hilltop third and Moss Garden fourth. Race three was taken out by Enley ahead of Valour Under fire and Acadane with GoYouGoodThing in fourth.
Worley would finish the day a winner winning the days final two races, riding the Diane Cheetam trained La Tristess to victory in race six ahead of Punk Star, Elegies and Sound World. Race five saw Worley bag a win for trainer Stephen Randall aboard Cearnach, beating out Harada Tat Tat in second and kiwi runners Dungiven and Just Elusive in third and fourth.
