A public forum last week was used to end the speculation and announce the future of community radio in the Glen Innes district is here to stay.

Community Radio station 2CDB, known as the Deepwater and Districts Community FM Radio Inc, held a forum last week with council to gauge the feelings of members and supporters.
There had been widespread speculation and misinformation doing the rounds claiming the station had been given an eviction notice and would be shutting down.
However, the future of community radio with a firm commitment to its loyal listeners it will be broadcasting well into the future.
The station’s president, Neville Campbell welcomed the news and said the station had come of age and deserved to have some security.
“The Committee of Management of 2CBD wish to thank all those who have assisted the process to date and offered their support,” Mr Campbell said.
Mr Campbell went on to acknowledge the hard work of the station’s all volunteer staff to guaranteeing the future of the station.
“Together as a team we can continue to grow and maintain our role as an integral and vibrant part of our community,
“The station has a very bright future and we must stress to the community again that we are here for the long haul,” Mr Campbell said.
