Eighty-six entries were received with players from Casino, Lismore, Grafton, Coffs Harbour, Sawtell, Armidale, Inverell, Tamworth and of course Glen Innes. Many of the visiting players have tennis Australia rankings with the two top seeds with rankings under 200.
The A men's singles was won by Aaron Westerlund from Casino with a very high standard of play. A women's singles was won by Georgia Allen of Grafton, again with a very high standard of play.
In local results Sue Rees and Mick Grob made it to the semi finals of the B Mixed Doubles and Mike Stone reached the semi finals of the C Men's Doubles.
In the C Women's Doubles Jamie Porter and Kirily Hahn reached the semi finals.
Glen Innes juniors did well with Joey Ryan reaching the quarter finals of the D Boy's Doubles and Joey was runner up in the D Mixed Doubles with Olivia Walmsley.
Considering a somewhat doubtful start the tournament was a great success thanks to the hard working committee, with a special thanks to Mia Cambridge and her team of workers in the canteen. Also a special thanks must go to the major sponsors of the tournament, Glen Innes and District Services Club, Stewart's Coaches and Community Mutual Credit Union. Many local businesses and individuals also gave generous sponsorship adding to the success of the tournament.
