Yesterday the Quilters Group handed over the quilt to Glen Innes Men’s Shed, who have kindly donated their time to sell raffle tickets over the next four weeks.
Fundraising and catering director Mick Gall said Glen Innes has given so much to the Men’s Shed, they are now in a position to give back their time to the community.
“We would be hoping to make a few thousand, because the amount of work that has gone into it,” he said.
“We will be selling tickets starting this week and we will draw the raffle the Saturday before mother’s day,” Men’s Shed President Paul Raper said.
Uniting Church Quilting and Craft Group Vice President Kay Gall said it has taken 12 months for it to come together but they’ve made sure everyone’s had a go at it.
“The Men’s Shed volunteered to sell the tickets if we made the quilt,” Quilters Group Treasurer Val King said.
“We will tally the money up and be donating it to Palliative Care at Glen Innes Hospital.”

The quilt will be displayed at Fabric Barn and Kwong Sings throughout the next 4 weeks.
Tickets are $2 each and you can find the Men’s Shed Representatives around Grey St, Woolworths, Kwong Sings and Fabric Barn during the coming weeks.
