History House researcher and Glen Innes resident Jeanie Ross Fraser will be conducting the opening ceremony from 2.30 pm, this weekend.
The Australians at War room has been curated by Jenny Anderson and Di McLachlan with donated goods from community members in Glen Innes and the surrounding district.
Jenny said she expects the room to be open until at least October.
“We wanted to commemorate all Australians in war and their supporting services, not just the ANZAC’s,” she said.

“Everything has been donated and is in pretty good condition.”
The key pieces on display are full uniforms, a world war one nurse cape, a world war two letter, ration cards, dog tags and memorabilia which soldiers sent back to their families.
“We have army, navy and air force represented plus the supporting services,” Jenny said.
$10 entry includes afternoon tea and everyone is welcome to come along.
