The service provides transport for people and their carers who find it difficult due to age, frailty or disability to get to appointments.
Glen Innes runs an office for the Tenterfield based project.
Client advocate Joan Joans said that she had fielded complaints from people concerned the service had closed.
“Clients are concerned that they will miss appointments,” she said. “My understanding is that funding was provided for 40 hours a week and that number has been significantly reduced for Glen Innes.”
However, general manager of the Tenterfield Total Care and Transport service Dee- Anne Cowin said there is no funding loss for the Glen Innes service.
“We have funding for someone to be in Glen Innes for five days a week with no specific hours, it is up to Tenterfield to decide on those hours,” she said.
“At no time has the service closed, appointments were being taken for Glen Innes from the Tenterfield office whilst we sorted out an employment issue.
"Now someone is in the Glen Innes office local clients are able to make appointments from Glen Innes.”

Ms Cowin said that it is sad that misinformation had caused people to think the service was being cut.

A spokesperson from the Commonwealth Home and Community Care (HACC) program confirmed Ms Cowin’s response to the Glen Innes Examiner and reiterated that Commonwealth funding was still in place for the Glen Innes
