Angus, Kaine, Imogen, Chelsea and Isla were all born on May 12 and 13, so they were all excellent little mothers’ day gifts.
This is boom for the hospital which on average only sees six babies born per month.
Clinical Midwifery Educator Sarah Whyte said this quite unusual for the maternity ward.
“It seems June and July will be above average for births,” she said.
“But we will still maintain quality services with these peak times.”
Clinical Nurse Manager Penny Whan said herself and Health Services Manager Cathryn Jones were proud of having such a dedicated maternity unit.
“We are supportive of all our midwives who have done a great job in the delivery of a large number of babies in a short period of time,” she said.
Shannon Chapman, Angus’ mother, received a blanket and a teddy from the Hospital Auxiliary as Angus was the first baby to be born at the hospital after Mother’s Day.
“The hospital auxiliary are a great support network for our hospital,” Sarah Whyte said.
