Defence Care is a charity that helps current and ex-serving members of the Australian Defence Force and their families in times of injury, illness or crisis.
A spokesman for Defence Care said that their aim is to help families get through tough times and to offer help for as long as it is needed.

“Serving in the army, navy or air force can have a significant impact on health, well-being and quality of life both while serving and after service,” he said.
“We offer help to those that suffer significant stress and trauma as well as those that need help transitioning to civilian life.”
Sub Branch President Gordon Taylor said that defence care plays an important part in dealing with veteran issues.
“We are proud to support Defence Care as several people in this area have been assisted by them over the years,” he said.
“They have offered physiological help and also assisted with day to day issues particularly those associated with post-traumatic stress disorder.
“The sub branch is honoured to accept this shield that shows their appreciation for our donation and we will continue to assist Defence Care into the future.”
