The day started brilliantly for the Magpies with wins in league-tag, under 18s and reserve grade, but some poor handling errors cruelled the first grade side to ruin any chances of a clean sweep against the Ashford Roosters.
Glen were sloppy in the opening half to trail 22-10 at the break with their points coming courtesy of two tries to Craig Browne.
The Magpies came out firing in the second half and fought their way back to 22-20 with 25 minutes remaining, but again sloppy ball handling crept back into the Magpies’ game and enabled Ashford to run away with the match late.
Browne completed his hat-trick in the second half, while Jamie Watts, Ben Vidler and Chris Pedlow also scored and Vidler booted three goals.
The Magpie reserves finally had a good number of players show up and it resulted in a gritty 30-26 win.
After trailing early, Glen came firing back with an inspiring effort led by halves Travis Patterson and Nick Lehman.
Both men scored tries to go with four-pointers from James Graham, Brandon Levy and Cameron Hollis and Lehman booted five goals.
It was a tale of two halves for the Magpie under 18s.
Glen led 28-4 at half-time after a brilliant opening stanza, but slacked off in the second half and were only able to add one more try to win 34-10.
Tom Say scored a double, while Brock Simpkins, Jacob Howard, Tobin Treasure and Jayden Ehsman also crossed, with Ehsman booting five goals.
The top of the table clash in league-tag lived up to its billing with the Magpies holding on to win 10-4.
It almost ended in a draw as Ashford crossed the try line after the siren, but a heroic tag by Amy Barraclough saved the day for Glen Innes.
Fiona Williamson and Barraclough scored the two tries for Glen, while Barraclough kicked one goal.
This weekend the Magpies travel to Armidale to take on the Rams in all four grades.
