On Sunday, June 28, 14 boys from Glen Innes represented Group 19 playing against Group 21 and Group 4 in Tamworth.

The 12 years team was coached by Glen Innes’ David Willis, who was assisted by fellow Magpies trainers Andrew Hodgson and Adam Hillier.
Willis said all players played well in very hot conditions.
The first game against Group 21 was very fast and physical hit out with Group 21 winning 22 - 6.
Ethan Kirkwood from Armidale scored a try, Tom Mathewson from Glen kicked a goal, Joven Moore from Inverell was named player of the match.
With only a short break the team took on Group 4 and were unlucky to be beaten 14 - 10 Try scores were Ethan Kirkwood and Cam Gaukrouger from Inverell, Kayden Smith from Moree kick a goal, Campbell Watchies from Inverell was named player of the match.
The Glen Innes players in the 12’s team were Harrison Grob, Harrison Cooke, Bailey de Jong Connor O’Brien, Jamie Doney, Luke Kiehne, Jye Williams and Tom Mathewson.
In the 13’s Group 19 team, Glen Innes was represented by Carter Goard, Evan Byrne, Jason McAlister, Mark Law, Jaksen O’Brien and Cory Kennedy.
Their coach, Louise Ricketts, from Moree said the boys played their hearts out.
After going down to Group 21 in their first game 30 points to 8 the Group 19 team regrouped to pull off a fantastic upset win over Group 4.
In a high scoring game the boys held out a fast finishing Group 4 to come away with a 40 -38 win.
Evan Byrne was one of the try scorers in this game.
These games are all about development and insight to representative Rugby League.
All the boys enjoyed the experience and were great representatives for Glen Innes Magpies and Group 19.
