The Highlanders were too strong in all positions across the pitch and played a highly entertaining and effective brand of football.
Captain Coach Dean Wilkins was more than happy with his team’s display and was effusive with his praise for the Highlander’s efforts.
“We had a strong team effort with Mick Maroney and players player Harley Parker combining well, scoring most of the goals,” he said.
“We also saw a much improved mid field performance from Owen Larkings and Christian Doust.
“Our young back line of Garry Crawford, Robert Ferris and Brenton Antaw shut down most attacking raids for the Highlanders to dominate the game in the second half.”
According to Coach Rob Ferris the second division team played their best game of the year only to be beaten by a very good North Armidale side.
“Players player went to Ed Malone but it could have been awarded to any of the players on the day,” he said.
“It was very pleasing to see the team really starting to play good quality football.”
