Playing in the Group 19 major semi-finals, both the Magpie league-tag side and juniors lost their respective matches.
It was the first loss of the year for the league-tag side who went down to Ashford 14 6.
Glen Innes were far from their best against a side they had beaten comfortably twice so far this season.
The Magpies struggled with ball security throughout the match and an amped up Roosters outfit took full advantage.
Ashford scored twice early in the first half to take a 10-nil lead with the Magpies coming out of the gates slowly.
The score line would remain that way until mid-way through the second half when Ashford scored their third try of the day to take a 14-nil lead.
Courtney Grange scored a late consolation try for the Magpies to see the score finish 14-6 in the Roosters’ favour.
Playmakers Megan Fuller and Amy Barraclough were strong for the Magpies.
While the Magpie ladies started slowly, Glen’s juniors flew out of the gate against the undefeated Inverell side.
Following tries to Russell Burnham, Tom Say and Jayden Field, the Magpies streaked out to a 16-nil lead.
A mistake from the kick-off following Field’s try handed the Hawks a rare opportunity deep in the Magpies’ half and the minor premiers made no mistake to cross under the stick to reduce the deficit to 14-6.
A telling moment in the match occurred in the seconds before half time.
The Magpies blew an opportunity for a certain try, only to see the Hawks break down the left flank from the ensuing scrum.
A sensational cover tackle from Magpie halfback Jake Willis could only stop the raid briefly with the Hawks crossing two tackles later on the stroke of halftime.
It was a 12-point swing the Magpies would never recover from.
Inverell made a break from the kick-off immediately after half time and had scored before a minute had ticked over in the second stanza to level the scores at 16-all.
The Hawks scored again two minutes later to lead 22-16.
Both sides had opportunities to score throughout the second half, but committed defence from either end stifled the points with the match finishing 22-16 to the Hawks.
Robbie Hamel was sensational for the Magpies at lock with an astonishing work rate in attack and defence.
Second rower Jeremy Lonergan was strong on the left fringe, with halves Say and Willis also dangerous.
Both sides will travel to Inverell again this Sunday to play Moree and Armidale respectively.
