The night will be raising funds for the Glen Innes Show Society livestock section.
Northern Tablelands LLS Livestock Officer – Cattle Jason Siddell said the aim of the evening will be to provide UNE students with the opportunity to develop real life extension skills in agriculture.
”This gives them skills in events organisations,” he said.
“It’s transferring skills across; they have to work as a group, make the flyer, complete the media release and coordinate with the vendors and the caterers.”
“This is the third year I’ve done this and its different ever year.
“It’s a good opportunity to put money back into the community.”
The competition will comprise tables of eight to ten people going head to head in a light hearted manner with an expectation of friendly banter between local identities and organisations.
The questions will be agricultural based but there will also be several general knowledge rounds.
Show Society President Andrew Hancock said he hopes everyone comes along and supports the society and the students.
“We are very happy that they thought of us,” he said.
The show society will be putting the funds towards the livestock section after there were stolen sheep at the last show.
The Trivia Night will be a family friendly event with cost $12.50 per head which includes a steak sandwich on arrival and nibblies throughout the evening.
Individuals or teams can reserve their place by September 8 with an RSVP for catering purposes to Jason Siddell 0459 162 295 or Carmen Elvins on (02) 6730 1923.
