The undercover marketplace is behind Landmark and will be selling goods up until Sunday; anytime the gates are open you can pop on in.
In the marketplace see plenty of plants for your spring gardening, beautiful jewellery from Maggy D Designs, Steve and Katrina Hoare are selling various items made from antlers and mirrors and the Glen Innes Mens Shed are selling items made of wood.
You can also see the Glen Innes Fine Arts selling handmade items, John Lobley and his photography and Mike Gilbert selling various paintings at the marketplace as well.
Get on down to the old fashion palace in Grey Street to by the next masterpiece for your home as well as make a small donation to the Inverell Women’s Refuge Centre.
Spring fling committee member Tanya Robertson-Cuninghame said it was a big weekend for women here in Glen Innes so why not focus on a problem such as alleviating domestic violence by making a donation to such a worthy women’s refuge.
“All these paintings are for sale and any profits from the door will be going back to the centre,” she said.
Sandy Fitzgerald, Bea Baker, Tanya Robertson-Cuninghame and Ruth Sim-Brummell have worked extremely hard to get the spring fling off the ground and are very pleased to see several people take up the opportunity to sell goods in the market place as well as have over 25 artists work on sale.
“We are delighted with the turn up, we can see today an increase in foot traffic down the southern end of Grey Street and we have made a difference in the main street shop fronts,” Ruth said.
The art shop will be open from 10am – 5pm, but gauging on foot traffic throughout the weekend.
