The Leila Campbell Trophy competition is held annually at Glen Innes Bowling Club with pairs being chosen out of a hat.
This was Haylee’s first year competition in the Leila Campbell trophy and she has a family connection to it, as Haylee is Leila’s great granddaughter.
Haylee and Jeanette played Isabelle Dawson and Lorraine Podmore winning 33 to 10.
Haylee said it was a pretty solid game but they were being beaten 6 to 0 at the start of the game.
“But we got back up,” she said.
“I’m pretty happy and proud to have won it, it was very exciting.”
Haylee is only new to bowls this year and has come a long way in a short amount of time.
As a junior bowler she has competed in several club competitions as well as school representative lawn bowls.
Haylee played on November 7 and 8 in the Rose Carnival.
