The Kindergarten to year two playground has a timber structure for the children to play on, but it is in need of repair.
P&C President Caroline Chappell said with the growth within the school it is time to add some new equipment to the play area.
“We already have awesome teachers, great school buildings and this amazing big playground and our new Principal has just had sandpits built for both the Infants and Primary playgrounds,” she said.
“But now it is our turn to contribute to the playground with the new climbing equipment.
“To be able to say that families and the community have raised the money to give the students a new play structure in 2016 is so exciting.”
Mrs Chappell said the P&C have already been able to give the students picnic tables to sit at for lunches and blinds to drop down on the new hall to shelter the undercover area in bad weather.
“We have also in conjunction with Year six of 2013 added the electronic sign at the front of the school,” she said.
“We have started to raise funds for this new project via raffle tickets available for purchase through the school office.
“We will be outside Schafer’s Newsagency this Saturday, 28th November between 9.30-12.30pm so please come and see us and buy a ticket or five to support your local public school.”
P&C Treasurer Nicole Husband said the raffles major prize is 2 nights’ Accommodation for 2 adults and 2 children at Paradise Resort Surfers Paradise.
