Over 130 years of volunteer service was acknowledged at the awards night.
SES Spokesperson Sarah White said volunteers are called out at all hours of the night and early hours of the morning when emergency events occur.
"State Emergency Service volunteers make significant sacrifices so they can respond to people in need,” she said
“They're the men and women who put aside their own personal and work commitments to tarp rooves, search for the missing and support other emergency service workers.
It is great to know that we have people who are available to assist our communities during floods and storms, searching bushland, vertical rescue and at road accidents.”
Miss White said in many cases, especially in regional and rural areas, the SES volunteers are the first respondents to emergencies that occur in our local communities.
“Saturday evening volunteers were presented with awards, which included the national medal, State Emergency Service long service medals and State Emergency Service long service certificates,” she said.
The awards were presented by Mr Brian Parson, the Deputy Region Controller and Sarah Stapleton Unit Controller of the Glen Innes State Emergency Service.
