Isaac and Raeda Akkouche were expecting their baby on January 14 but it seems baby Fatimah wanted to be born in Glen Innes and came early on January 4.
Mr Akkouche said he and his wife were delighted to add to their family and were grateful for the care they received at the hospital and from local Doctor, Azar Mirzae.
“We are now going to go home with a nice surprise for our friends and family and a sister for our other two children, “he said.
“Dr Azar had just returned from holidays and she came here the first day we were here, the baby was born on the fourth at 5:30 in the afternoon.
“Now we have a long drive home to Sydney, but we are very happy.”
