A genuine Austrian meal will be served backwards for a bit of a twist and Black and white dress is required.
Organisers Garek Fysch and Ian MacDonald, from Donau Rhein Verein German/Austrian Club, said the event Takes its name from the Old German word fasen (“to be foolish, silly, wild”) and is held annually in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Luxembourg.
“It's all a little noisy as it's supposed to scare away the devil (Schoduvel) before Lent,” Mr Fysch said.
"An imaginary royal court is set up and they parade shouting out the Narrenruf (Fool’s Shout) Ahoi! Helau! and Schelle schelle – schellau!
"It's all good fun and there'll be raffles and prizes galore. So dress in black and white for the Schwarz-Weiss-Karneval and be in the running for best dressed."
The meal will be Coffee and iced Karneval biscuits, Faschingskrapfen which is Austrian apricot and rum filled doughnuts served with icing sugar and cream followed by Palatshinken an Austrian savoury crepes served with slaw and paprika paste and sour cream and Kurbissuppewhich which is a German pumpkin soup.
Vegetarians and gluten free diets can be accommodated and tickets can be purchased at Carelles for $20pp.
A portion of the funds raised will go to sponsorship of the Australian Celtic Music Awards.
