Joining Fittler will be Matt Cooper, Steve Roach, Ian Schubert and Josh Perry who will be aiming to raise funds for Father Chris Riley’s Youth of the Street.
In 2012 Brad “Freddy” Fittler was told there was a shocking 47000 homeless people under the age of 25 in Australia so he established the “Hogs for the Homeless” and since the first ride has raised nearly $300000.
“While we often hear the terms ‘street kids’ and ‘runaways’ being used when referring to young homeless people the reality of it is much different,’ he said.
“As a father it made me feel sick that there are so many homeless young people under the age of 25 in Australia.”
A spokesperson for the Glen Innes Magpies minor league said locals should come and rub shoulders with these NRL legends and support this great cause.
“Buy a sausage from the BBQ and support Freddy and this good cause and know that the money that is raised will go to help homeless youth,” they said.
Fittler and his mates will be at Kerry Mead Park Glen Innes from 4.30-5.30 on Tuesday February 23.
The former NRL greats will put on a clinic followed by a Greet and Meet BBQ at the New England Club.
