During his 22 years in State and then Federal Parliament, Windsor regularly held Town Hall meetings to connect with locals first hand.
Windsor will speak on why he is standing again for the seat of New England and welcomes the opportunity to answer questions from locals, and to hear their suggestions about what they want for the future of New England.
“It’s a terrific way to hear directly the views and issues uppermost in people’s minds – I really believe that the world is run by those who turn up and I hope people can make the time to come and share their views.” Windsor said
“The standard you walk past is the standard you accept and I am not prepared to walk on by as country people are forced to accept a lower standard. “
“That's why I am running again - to put New England, and the future of regional Australians, first.”
Mr Windsor said that another reason he is standing is because there are local issues that have a national context.
“I have always cared about the electorate and fought for it and I am keen to hear from locals on the NBN, Gonski and renewable energy as well as other issues they feel strongly about,” he said.
Next week, Windsor will set off on a series of town hall meetings across New England, with the Glen Innes meeting scheduled for May 3 at 6pm, at the Services Club in Grey Street.
Mr Windsor will also speak in Inverell on May 4 at 6pm RSM Flanders House, Evans Street and in Tenterfield May 12 at 6pm at the Bowling club in Molesworth Street.
