He said his party had focused on the issues of the campaign over what has been described as a personality contest between his political opponents.
While passing on the party message, Mr Goldstein said Gonski schools funding was the issue on which he cast his vote today.
"Gonski schools funding and saving our public TAFE have been uppermost in my mind throughout this election, apart from securing our farming future to limit dangerous global warming with a 100 per cent renewable NSW and a carbon neutral Australia," he said.
He said the Greens had a good chance in the election, after making "a real impression" on New England voters.
"I think New England voters appreciated the fact that the Greens campaign was about issues and policies and we didn't get into a personal sledging match."
Meanwhile, the Nationals' Tamworth MP Kevin Anderson was supporting his party and predicted a close race to the election result.
"I think we feel the pressure like every other party feels the pressure at election time," he said.
"People want to know what your policies are, what's in it for them, and how can they benefit from whoever they vote for."
He said elections were becoming increasingly a race of clashing personalities.
"They certainly do come down to the personalities as well as the policies," he said.
