Competition between teams has been fierce all season in junior, intermediate and open divisions and players are sharpening their focus as finals draw closer.
Association spokeswoman Sally Floyd said in the junior division it is a close tussle for the top of the table.
“Green Machine are narrowly claiming top spot half way into the season over Gumballs and Jolly Jumpers who are tied in second place,” she said.
“This is the first year a large number of these girls have taken to the courts with all girls showing improvement each week.
“Edith Newbury from Panthers with five points is leading the MVP tally.”
In the intermediate division Mrs Floyd said most games have been close each week.
“This division is home to a large number of the upcoming representative stars and each week all games have been extremely close,” she said.
“TGIS are sitting on top of the leader board narrowly edging out GFWB and Hotshots who are also drawn in second place.
“The battle for MVP is hotly contested with Bridie Williamson, Chelsey Kemp, Kaitlyn Wallbridge, Jess Winter and Alex Wright all sharing the highest point score in this division.”
Mrs Floyd said 2016 has seen the revival of the Opens division with high scoring competitive games being played out each week.
“Unlike previous seasons there is no clear frontrunner to take out the top honours as we head into the last half of the season,” she said.
“The Col Say and Co team which is comprised of the association’s highly successful representative girls are currently sharing the lead with newcomers CRT.
“Tavern Netprechauns are hot on their heels for the top spot and this weekend sees the two teams drawn in the top position take on each other which promises to be a close encounter.
“Julie Donnelly is currently claiming the most MVP points for the season.”
