Organised by year two teacher Mrs Williams the excursion was part of the stage one students curriculum.
Glen Innes Public School teacher Debbie Webster said the day was important for students because it stimulates discussion.
“The students are studying a unit called the way we were which allows them to compare the way life is now to how it was in the past,” she said.
“It is incredibly important for the children to learn about history because they get to see how easy we have it today compared to the olden days and it does bring about lots of discussion amongst them, which is always a good thing.
‘The students get to talk about values and they grow their knowledge in a fun environment, we really have a wonderful resource here with the history house and it is good that we can use it in such a practical way.”
