The start of summer can be a little daunting for those who have put on unwanted weight over the winter months.
Kudos to those who kept active and stayed on their health game, but If you overindulged a little too much don’t worry, we have five simple tricks that will help you kickstart your summer weight loss in no time.
- Clean out your fridge and pantry
Has your pantry gained allot of comfort food over the winter months?
Luckily, the warmer weather brings on cravings for fresh, healthy and lighter meal options like fruits and salads.
It’s time to go through your fridge and pantry and remove foods that aren’t good for you. This will allow for a fresh mindset and room for summery foods that make you feel good on the inside.
Instead of throwing out food, simply take it to a homeless shelter.
- Freshen your wardrobe and summer style
As summer approaches, go through and remove your winter outfits setting them aside for next year.
This will allow more room for summer items!
As you start to wear your summer outfits you will start to feel fresh, lively and full of life!
Now is also a good time to shop the latest summer trends and treat yourself to a new outfit.
Feeling the fresh spring and summer air on your bare skin will also keep you feeling motivated and inspired to live a healthy and active lifestyle.
- Plan your meals each and every day
When it comes to weight loss and living a healthy lifestyle, planning your meals is paramount!
It’s too easy to give in to temptations if you aren’t prepared.
Each night take 10 minutes to sit down with a note pad and simply plan your meals for the following day.
Meal planning varies for each person but it doesn’t have to be made complicated and you don’t have to spend your entire Sunday planning, shopping and cooking a weeks’ worth of meals.
I suggest that you simply break your page up into five sections; section one for breakfast, two for lunch, three for dinner, four for beverages and five for snacks, write down your desired meals, beverages and snacks in each section.
You can make it as detailed as you like, you can add pictures and you can also add a daily shopping list.
If you need help with deciding on healthy meal options and portion sizes, I recommend you consult a nutritionist.
