The program is designed for boys and girls from 5 to 8 years old and it is a fast, fun and active program that emphasises maximum participation, basic motor and cricket skill development.
It is experience based and builds its foundations on the essentials for lifelong involvement in physical activity and sport.
By taking part in the MILO in2CRICKET program the Glen Innes children learnt the basics of cricket and developed other skills.
Each week during the program children played game based activities that kept them active, and taught them about cricket.
School spokesperson Nicole Hutton said the children at the school were enthusiastic about participating in the program.
“Our school was lucky to have local cricketer Mr Ferris run a cricket skills program each Friday for four weeks,” she said.
“Each child was given a cricket pack that consisted of a Bat, ball and bag and at the end of the program they got to take that home.”
“Our children had a great time and learnt new skills.”
