Councillor Malcolm Schumacher is seeking re-election to council on September 10 after serving the community for the last eight years.

Cr Schumacher said was proud of what the council has achieved in the last four years and that he would like to continue the work he has been doing for the community.
“During the time I have been on council we have achieved many of the goals that we set for ourselves at the beginning of the term,” he said.
“We have achieved the purchase of the quarry for water supply, treatment works for the Deepwater water supply, Glen Innes and Emmaville swimming pool upgrades.
“We have also secured the CBD upgrade, a sealed road to the Deepwater cemetery, and upgrade of two streets in Emmaville, new loading ramps at the sale yards and a new bridge at Dundee.
“We have planned capital works that covers an extensive range of projects including upgrades of roads and bridges for the next term.”
Cr Schumacher said he is actively engaged in many committees in the area.
“I believe serving on committees is important and I am on many including; Minerama, Tourist Association, Australia Day, Emmaville MPS, Emmaville Memorial Hall, Open Spaces, Saleyards, Rural Roads, Emmaville Rural Fire Service, Emmaville RSL sub branch,” he said.
“Glen Innes Severn Council area is a great place to live and we as a community and council must look to the future with wise and strategic planning for all our needs.

Cr Schumacher said he is a committed councillor.
“I have made informed decisions that have and will benefit the whole community now and into the future,” he said.
“I am approachable and willing to listen to all concerns that may arise.
“Given the opportunity I would like to again represent the citizens of our local area in a stable and progressive council.”
