This year’s Glen Innes show attracted bumper crowds and was a great boost for the local economy.
Show Society Secretary Neale Royal said the show is an important event for the Community.
“It draws people together and provides the opportunity for locals to showcase their talents in many ways; be it growing vegetables, taking photos, cooking cakes, showing livestock or show jumping,” he said.
“To run a successful show, you need many volunteers, well maintained grounds and the funds to run it so we held a fundraising dinner dance to ensure our show continues to be one of the most popular and successful shows of the region.”
Entertainment was provided by Mark Colley's "Just Me" .
Mr Royal said they had everyone on the dance floor.
“It was great to see most people dust off their best frocks and suits, they looked like they meant business, it was a huge night,” he said.
“It is important that nights like these are held and successful because the money we raise ultimately benefits everyone in the district.
“The Glen Innes show society wants to make sure we can continue our work and we do need funds to do that, it was great to see the community embrace the event.”
Show society PR Committee representative Kate Dance said the dance is a great opportunity for the Show Society to provide another event for the community to enjoy.
“It was a fabulous fundraising evening and we are excited about the upcoming attractions this will allow the Society to hold at our wonderful Showgrounds,” she said.
“It was great to see everyone dressed up and having a good time.
“The night was a big success and we may look to make this dance an annual event for the town’s social calendar.”
