A field of world-class show-jumpers will descend onto the New England region for the second annual Photo Create Spring Showjumping event at the Glen Innes Showground this weekend.

There will be plenty of action with two arenas running with the whole main ring at the showground being utilised.
The event is free for the public to attend and it is an opportunity to witness some of the best show jump horse and riders in Australia compete.
Chief Steward Scott Brown said the event is being run in conjunction with the World Cup Qualifier in Tamworth on the following weekend.
“A lot of the competitors are using our event as the perfect lead-up to that event,” he said.
The timing of our event will ensure a high quality of horse and rider combinations and we are confident that this year's event will be bigger and better than the first one as we push to make this a nationally recognised event on the equine calendar.”
Mr Brown said there has been a lot of interest shown by competitors with riders coming from all over NSW and interstate to compete at the event.
“The Glen Innes Show Society is very excited about the interest that has been shown by many past, current and future Olympic riders who have indicated they will attend,” he said.
“The blue ribbon event on the program, the Photo Create Grand Prix will be held on Monday and will see the very best horse and rider combinations in Australia compete for a prize pool of $4000.00 in that event.”
Mr Brown said the competition will commence at about 8am on Saturday morning and will run through to Monday evening.
“Sunday’s jumping will be spectacular with four Championship Jumps appearing on the program,” he said.
“Anyone wanting to see Show Jump Riding of the highest order should make their way to the Glen Innes Show Ground over the weekend as the jumps will be big and the competition world class.”
“We are now setting our sights on making this an annual event and we are very keen to see this event grow and to provide our community with something that promotes Glen Innes in a positive way.”
Armidale’s Will Wood will compete this weekend after participating in the event last year.
He has been in the showjumping arena since he was six years old.
“It is a pretty big event,” he said
“The event ran really well and it just worked really smoothly between the two rings.
“It is really nice to compete alongside [the country’s top riders] and to be able to jump with the big boys is a really good feeling.”
