Opened by the Federal Leader of the Nationals, Warren Truss the fete offered a great range of stalls and entertainment and along with a lovely if not slightly windy afternoon, it was deemed a great success by organizers and visitors.
Auxiliary president Ellie Seagrave was happy with the funds raised on the day.
“We raised around $11,000 and even though numbers were down a little bit it didn’t make any difference to the takings.
“That’s pretty good for a town this size. We haven’t decided what to do with the money yet but we have a few projects in mind.
“The volunteers all did a wonderful job setting up and preparing for the fete and were all there when it came to pulling it down,” Ellie said.
Manager of the Vegetable Creek MPS Jenny Newberry said the fete is always generously supported by everyone in the district.
“It was the 10 year anniversary of the opening of our new hospital so it was a special day.
“The children from the school made a special effort to paint posters for the hospital based on the theme of Healthy Living.
“They did a wonderful job, it was a great effort.
“It was a busy day, face painting, clowns, lots of raffles and craft stalls.
“The school children performed which was great and the tea room was busy with all that wonderful homemade cooking on offer. It’s always a great day for Emmaville.”
